SEARED SALMON

Ingredients

  • Salmon

  • Butter

  • 1 tbsp Mustard

  • 2-3 Minced Garlic Cloves

  • tbsp Hot Honey

  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Salt and Black Pepper

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Pat salmon dry, then season with salt and pepper, hot honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, mustard, paprika

    • Let salmon marinate overnight or can cook after letting sit for 20 minutes

    • If going to let the salmon marinate put in a Tupperware jar or a zip-loc bag would work as well. I prefer the Tupperware just to ensure the salmon stays fully in tack

  2. Add butter and oil to a large, oven-safe skillet over MED-HIGH heat. Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic

  3. Add salmon, skin side down (if using salmon with skin), and cook for 3 minutes. While the salmon cooks, baste frequently with sauce from the pan by spooning it over the top of the salmon.

    • Want a nice sear on the salmon

    • Add honey prior to putting it in the oven

  4. Broil salmon for 5-6 minutes, basting with sauce once during the broil, until salmon is caramelized and cooked to the desired doneness.

  5. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Important Notes:

A cast iron skillet is recommended.
